ABOUT OUR COMPANY

SEED Benefit Consulting CC was founded in 1986 and was formerly known as Martin Drake Associates CC (MDA).

At the time Lidia Nunes had started her career as head of the Life Assurance Division for Heritage Insurance Brokers (Pty) Ltd, Western Cape, a national short term brokerage. Martin Drake of Martin Drake Associates joined Heritage in 1990 to grow the life business. They worked very successfully together, and Martin asked Lidia to join his operation. They decided to move away from Heritage to run the company independently.

Due to the changing legislative environment within the Financial Services Industry, MDA embarked on a major restructure of their business interests. Within the partnership, Martin Drake had focused on various other business ventures over the years leading up to 2003, with Lidia taking most of the responsibilities of running the Assurance Division of the Company. With the implementation of new legislation such as the introduction of the FAIS Act which impacted on the industry, Martin decided to focus his attention and expertise in other areas of business. With Martin’s exit Lidia acquired 100% shareholding and took the decision to rename the business to SEED Benefit Consulting CC.

OUR TEAM

LIDIA NUNES

LIDIA NUNES, CEO of SEED Benefit Consulting CC is responsible for managing and running the practice. She consults to Employers, Management Committees of Retirement Funds and Individual Clients regarding all assurance-based products.

Lidia, whose home language is Portuguese, matriculated from an Afrikaans medium school and is therefore fully trilingual. She joined the financial services industry on completion of her education and underwent extensive in-house training at various financial institutions and meets all the qualification requirements for her license categories as prescribed by the FAIS Act. She is also accredited as a Health Care Broker and registered with the Council for Medical Schemes. (BR6470)

Lidia has also been involved in the Credit Life Assurance industry for over 20 years and during this time has built strong relationships with product and credit providers alike. This experience has allowed SEED to develop a unique group scheme product and set up a significant credit life book in the agriculture sector for credit providers across the Western Cape and Eastern Cape.

With almost 30 years’ experience in the industry, Lidia has the perfect background and expertise to advise both corporate and individual clients across all aspects of the Long-Term Insurance products and services.

RUDI DE JAGER

RUDI DE JAGER is an experienced Financial Advisor who has worked in the financial services industry for close to 20 years. He started his career in 2000 as a Financial Services Administrator where he was responsible for analyzing and evaluating all assurance-based products in the market and overseeing the technical support.

He was part of the team when SEED Benefit Consulting was established in 2003. He is registered as a Sales Representative and a Key Individual. Rudi has completed all the relevant qualifications and meets all the requirements for his license categories as prescribed by the FAIS Act. He is also accredited as a Health Care Broker and registered with the Council for Medical Schemes. (BR28154)

Rudi has extensive experience in both the field of administration and sales, giving him the perfect background and expertise to advise clients on the best available products and services available for their specific needs.

His current responsibilities include assisting Lidia with the compliance and management of the company and is currently responsible for all Employee Benefits administration. His main focus is on Employee Benefits, Retirement Planning, Health Service Benefits and general Financial Planning.

Rudi is available for group presentations as well as individual consultations.

DRIES VISSER

DRIES VISSER is a Personal Financial Advisor who has worked extensively in the financial services industry with over 30 years of experience. He joined the SEED team in 2015.

Dries started his career in the banking industry, working in various departments. In 1989 he decided to join the life assurance industry and started working as a broker consultant at Liberty Life. After a couple of years, gaining experience in the industry, he decided to become a Financial Advisor and joined Standard Bank in Beaufort West.

He successfully completed his regulatory Examination for Representatives and the National Certificate in Financial Services: Wealth Management in 2011.

Dries is a people`s person and is very passionate about the industry and believes in what he does. He has experience in all the sectors of financial planning and can assist with all your insurance needs, which include your risk assurance, wealth creation, wealth preservation and retirement planning needs.

LERéNCHIA GELDENHUYS

LERéNCHIA GELDENHUYS joined SEED in April 2010. She has been involved in the life assurance and investment industry for most of her working career where she has gained extensive experience as an administrator and has a wide-ranging understanding of the Long-Term assurance industry.

She is currently responsible for the administration of SEED’s credit life schemes as well as managing SEED’s Umbrella Funeral Scheme specifically designed for workers within the agricultural sector.

MONICA COLLINS

MONICA COLLINS is an administrator at SEED where her main responsibilities include administrative support to our sales team and working with our Individual Life client base.

Monica has worked in the Financial Services industry since 1990 where she started out at Sanlam in their policy servicing department as well as in the medical aid division. She was working at MMI Holdings as a broker liaison officer before joining the SEED team in June 2015. She has a vast experience as an administrator and sales support and is an integral part of our sales team.
